Bert Hynes which was primarily family oral history sons Edward(Edmund)
& William as weall as daughter Sarah are the offspring of first wife
Rebecca Bryan (or Bryant), however there is also suggestion that all of
James children were born to wife Elizabeth Noonan. The conflict might actually
be simply the result of baptismal dates for the elder children.

Notes for EDWARD HYNES:
In 1908 Edward and brother James Hynes built the 28 ton schooner Little
Madonna which they used to fish the Labrador fishery until selling her
in 1928.
Captained the Schooner Verdun which he bought from the Hogan family in 1922.....sold in 1927.
Dennis and Thomas Hynes (of Thomas and Cecelia Turner) then bought the Stella Hynes from Thomas Hynes Sr. with which they fished the Labrador fishery until selling out in 1943.
Dennis then moved his family to British Columbia.

Notes for THOMAS HYNES:
In 1918 Thomas bought the schooner Stewart S which he used to fish
the Labrador fishery until selling her in 1920.
Bessie T bought from the Turner family until 1922.
In 1923 he boght the newly made schooner Stella Hynes a 48 ton craft which he fished the Labrador with until 1927 when he sold her to son Thomas Jr. and partner Dennis (of Edward) Hynes.
Thomas and sons would then purchase yet another newly made schooner,
the 67 ton Roy Algar Russell of which Skipper Tom would remain master until
ill health forced him to pass the helm to son William, who with brother
Patrick as partner stayed in the fishing and freighting business before
selling out and retiring in 1945.
